Elliptical Reinforced Concrete Pipe

Elliptical Reinforced Concrete Pipe

Elliptical reinforced concrete pipe manufactured by County Materials is a time-tested solution for storm water systems and diverse municipal applications. When design constraints call for shallow depths and high flow, engineers turn to elliptical reinforced concrete pipe. Most sizes available with pre-lubricated gaskets, providing a watertight joint that resists infiltration of silts and sands. Elliptical pipe’s enhanced joint security promotes ease and speed of installation, reducing time and labor costs.

Product Features

  • Horizontal elliptical (HE) and vertical elliptical (VE) options are available
  • Available in sizes from 18” circular diameter equivalent up to 120” equivalent
  • Higher flow capacities at shallower depths (horizontal elliptical)
  • Accommodates higher flushing velocities at low flows (vertical elliptical)
  • Ideal substitute for round RCP and arch pipe where height or width restrictions are present

Applications

  • Storm drains
  • Culverts
  • Outfalls
  • Pedestrian tunnels
  • Groundwater recharge systems
  • Jacked or tunneled installations
  • Underground storm water retention structures

County Materials’ Elliptical Reinforced Concrete Pipe meets ASTM C507 & AASHTO M207 specifications and material requirements for reinforced concrete elliptical culvert, storm drain, and sewer pipe.
