As the student population at DeForest Area High School continued to grow, school district leaders took a proactive approach and decided to expand the school to better accommodate current and future student populations. The expansion and renovation project consisted of building a new gym and pool area, complete with locker room facilities, while the existing space would be transformed into an expansive student commons area.
To quickly build 102,000 SF of additions without sacrificing strength or safety, project leaders relied on County Materials’ Oversized 32” Concrete Masonry Units. The innovative units allowed double the square footage of tradition CMUs to be installed in the same amount of time by using hoist system technology.
