Solution: Concrete masonry upgrades the Suamico Fire Station, combining durability and aesthetics.
Concrete Masonry Combines Durability and Design Flexibility
The Suamico Fire Station is dedicated to preventing fires and accidents while upholding the highest standards of service for its citizens, businesses, and visitors. Concrete masonry was chosen to transform the building, providing a professional appearance that reflects the station’s commitment to excellence and safety.
The building features Heritage Collection Designer Concrete Brick in Winter Blend and Coffee Blend. The tallest portion of the building uses the darker Coffee Blend units with two bold stripes in the lighter Winter Blend color. The rest of the building reverses this color scheme while maintaining the stripe design. County Materials' Heritage Collection combines the timeless appeal of clay brick with the superior strength, durability, and design flexibility of concrete masonry.
Reflection Stone Grand was used for the bottom portion of the building, emulating the appearance of natural hand-hewn stone to provide a rustic yet sophisticated look. Unlike natural stone, the multiple-sized units of Reflection Stone are designed with interlocking grooves, allowing them to be easily pulled from the pallet and laid directly in place—resulting in up to four to five times faster production times. These units maintain their beauty and structural integrity with minimal need for ongoing maintenance or repairs.
Project Highlights:
This project used nearly 11,000 SF of Heritage Collection Designer Concrete Brick and over 800 SF of Reflection Stone Grand Masonry Units. Concrete masonry is ideal for commercial applications because it provides excellent fire resistance, energy efficiency, and long-lasting durability.
